Born in Kortrijk , 13 january 1945
I am a pharmacist ( 1969 KU Leuven) , but since 1977 mostly active in informatics.
I've got lessons in Cobol, systemanalysis, databases ( UFSIA) , Pascal (Teleac) and informatic and communicationtechnology in KULAK ( 1995) .
I wrote an application for pharmacists in MS Basic ,first on CP/M, later on MSDos, with multi-user versions in PC-Mos and Lantastic.
All the databasemanagement was written on my own ( 30.000 pharmaceutical products , large dbases for clients etc...)
Since june 1988 , I work half-time in the pharmacy of the Psychiatric Clinic in Beernem ( 851 patients) as pharmacist , where we use an application written by IBM on AS400.
From may 1989 until may 1992 I had another half-time working with Lernout&Hauspie Speechproducts, where I programmed in C on various phoneapplications (phone-banking, voice-mail etc...)
Since may 1992 I wrote the application for the distribution of drugs ( based on the medication scheme's ) in the Psychiatric Centre in Ieper.
I wrote that application in C , using CSCAPE 3.2 ( as user interface) and CODEBASE 4.5 (as Dbase tool ) , so that this application also can be accessed with most of the desktoptools (Access, Foxpro,Dbase, MSQuery ) , or with each ODBC-driver .
Since 1992 and 1996 I managed the system in this clinic (HP 9000 with HP-UX), and also the 70 PC's connected with TCP/IP.
We used Unify as RDBMS.
On the clients , I programmed in Visual C++ and I have experience with the ODBC-classes from MFC.
In 1996 I made C++ classes from the L&H speech SDK's at Quarterdeck Flanders.
In 1997 , at BARCO , Kortrijk, I wrote drivers as a COM-Object for a NT4,0 network for the TAURUS, a digital SDP-board, to capturing digital video-signals from a satelitte, and distributing them on a network.
At Barco , I also wrote a notification task, encapsulating the TAPI SDK's in a C++ class ( NT4,0 platform).
This task performs the notifications on the server to a pager, SMS ( for GSM) and using TTS for voice modems.
The first 6 months of 1998 , I worked at ASLK Brussels to migrate the UNIX processes in the offices to NT4.0 system processes, using Visual C++ and Winsocks.
Until 30 september 1998 I worked at the Provincial office of the "WitGele Kruis" : 15 Unix machines across West-Vlaanderen:
System managment and support on the C-programs and Orale 6 as dbase
In 1998 I learned Java on the "Open University ( KULAK)"
From 1/10/98 until 9 april 1999 I worked as IT-manager in Kortrijk : Infobuild NV , where we started a new project (infodesk) on NT4 platform, that I programmed in Visual C++ ( 6,0) with Oracle 7,3,4 using ODBC 2,5. Until half august 1999 I'm working on a project at SES Oudenaarde(Fabricom) to master a PLC-job on a NT-machine
From aug 99 to april 2000, a new interim at the Provincial office of the
"WitGele Kruis" , working on the new project using Oracle 7.3.
All statistics were made using the Cognos tools : Impromptu,Powerplay.
From june 2000 to sept 2001 , I was working working at Flanders Language Valley,Ieper , in a company writing banking applications with voice . Especially writing all kinds of Com objects with ATL , to include in the main server project ..
